Once they are in the boat they will continue to thrash around slashing anything and everything within reach, so the angler has to be very careful. Tiger fish average around 10 to 15 lbs but can grow over 20lbs.

Zambezi River fish tend to be smaller than the fish in Lake Kariba but pound for pound they fight just as hard and can be caught on a fly with special steel leaders. Besides catching the hard fighting Tiger Fish there are also plenty of good tasting Newbwe Bream.
